We will be organizing a service club to run one or two events at the dog walk in early June. This is open to all 4-Hers interested in community service, but especially to teenagers which will be running the club. Help us plan our 5th Annual Walk for Chance on Sun 6/6/10. The meeting will be held at Jim’s Family Pizza in Windsor Center at 124 Poquonock Ave. on March 10th from 7:00-8:00 PM. 4-Hers in High School will lead the committees that will help raise funds to train service dogs that assist the handicapped. Our last walk netted just over $20000 and we are in the process of getting our next dog. We are aggressively recruiting teenagers to organize and run the committees. Power is a wonderful tool and nothing beats Teen Power! Working on this project will look fantastic on your college resume to the college recruiters and you'll learn a lot about charity work and fundraising. We intend to raise money to finance Marley and our next dog. What a wonderful cause……we hope that all of you will get involved with the Dog Walk in some way!
The First Town 4-H appreciates your support. All funds raised go towards our mission of training and support of service dogs and similar dog related causes in the local community.
